Music of the OZARKS

Im Januar 2012 hab eich eine nette Postkarte aus den USA erhalten, die eine Art bundlose Zither, eine Violine und ein bundloses Banjo vor einem für Arkansas typischen Bild zeigt. Das Fass und der alte Holzzaun spiegeln den ländlichen Stil des Bundestaates der USA wider.

Das "Gebirgs-Hackbrett" stammt orientiert sich an der Zither und stammt aus der Appalachen-Region von 1850 rum. Es wird normalerweise aus Ahorn oder Walnussholz gefertigt. Der Musikstil nennt sich Mountain Music Style. Die Karte stammt aus Little Rock, eine Stadt mit knapp 200.000 Einwohnern. Der Norden des Bundesstaates und der untere Missouri nennt sich regionsmäßig THE OZARKS.

In den Ozarks gibt es viele alte Traditionen, Witze über Hinterwäldler und Legenden und Volkssagen. Auch ein Stuttgart gibt es dort, welches bekannt ist als die Reis- und Entenhauptstadt der Welt. (Sollte man in Bezug auf Asien gar nicht glauben.) Es wächst dort wohl mehr Reis, wie in jedem anderen Land und es soll dort die beste Entenjagd der Welt geben.

Hier muss ich ausnahmsweise auch noch die Briefmarken erwähnen. Eigentlich interessiere ich mich ja nicht sehr dafür, aber diese sind wirklich schön. Zumindest für Liebhaber der 50's cars der USA.

In January 2012 I received a nice postcard out of the USA, which shows a type of fretless zither, a violin and a fretless banjo in front of a typical picture of Arkansas. The old barrel and the fence of wood reflect the rural Style of the State Arkansas. 

The Mountain Dulcimer developed from the fretless zither in the Appalachian Region about 1850 - usually made of walnut or maple. The music style is called Mountain Music Style. The postcard comes from Little Rock, a city in Arkansas with about 200,000 people. The N and the lower Missouri is called "The Ozarks". 

At home there are a lot of old traditions, jokes about backwoods and legends and folktales. But there exists also a Stuttgart, which is called the rice and duck capitol of the world. (Couldn't belive that with all the asian regions.) There should grwon more rice than any country and the best duck hunting in the world. 

For once I've also got to show the stamps. Normally they aren't really interesting for me but these are very beautiful. Almost for 50's cars of the USA lovers.
